I LOVE point and click adventure games. I've been playing them since the early says of King's and Space Quest. I feel like this is a dying genre, so I was super excited to get my mits on this game! However...I was NOT happy that this game was seemingly not given a proper test run and was released as a beta... grrrr. Not worth $11.99, imo. Would appreciate some of my money back.Pros: GREAT atmosphere, clever clues - very fun to search around for things and needing to pay attention all the time! Cons: Super awkward voice overs, UNACCEPTABLE AMOUNT OF MANY bugs and glitches requiring an extensive patch that should have been done instead of rushing the game out (Hello, No Man's Sky), not very challenging, not very scary, rather boring story lineNeedless to say, I wouldn't recommend because of the frustration of having it properly work. I have to start over since the patch didn't work with the game I already had saved. I am not terribly upset about that; however, unless the second run doesn't work. It's not a terrible game, but I have played MUCH MUCH better.. Easy operation, interesting but not overly difficult puzzles, creepy music, eerie sequences, overall really fun and dark! I loved all the precise throwbacks and scenery from the first game.. I played original Barrow Hill many years ago, and it left a positive mark in me.The dark path, is a good classical horror game, but there is a couple irritating issues. The game is a bit challenging at times... I got stuck a couple of times. And not because the riddles too hard but because of the way the game is constructed, But all in all i would give 7/10. For the orginical Barrow Hill I'd give 8,5/10.. I love Barrow Hill! This game is so good.. Atmospheric, if slightly corny, mild-horror game set in the English countryside, history, and folklore.Much better than the hidden object games, this doesn't rely on such silly tricks and has an interesting story that will appeal to those of us raised on library's hidden corners (you know the ones - where the UFO, ghosts, loch ness monster, yeti type books lurked).My only gripe is that they run on windows so I have to use bootcamp to run them on my macbook - please, if you are reading this, make macos versions of your games along with the lost crown series).. Just awful....waste of money the 49 positive reviews are quite obviously from bots. Played the first Barrow Hill many years ago loved it. If you like point and click story driven horror games then you won't be disappointed 👌🏼
